I visited your site ealier in the year, enjoyed it, but did not leave any comments. The
second review was even better than the first one.
I passed your address on to a friend that flies out of Pontiac, Tom Hall, CFI, also to a
mutual friend who now lives in Gaylord, Stan Crater.

Greetings from SOUTH AFRICA.Thanks for a most intersting website. I hope somebody
follows this example and starts a similar site for the Aeronca C2 and C3 aircraft.
I am currently restoring the only surviving Aeronca C3 in Africa. It is the example which
flew from England to South Africa in 1936, in an epic flight undertaken by David
Lllewellyn and was the smallest aircraft to ever undertake this flight.
It was originally G-AEAC and became ZS-AGX and ended its days on the register of
Mozambique. I obtained the fuselage when I bought an Auster in 1987 and having restored
and flown this WW2 veteran for nine years, I have now started work on the remains of the
C3.
Anybody out there in the Aeronca K world who can provide assistance with a pair of wings
for a C3 as well as undercarriage legs and wheels and a fuel tank? Are the early Aeronca K
wings the same as the C3?? Any assitance with these parts would be greatly
appreciated.Addresses of C3 owners would be useful. My aircraft will be powered by a JAP
J99, which was the British livence built version of the Aeronca E-113 engine,
but having dual ignition as standard.
We have no Aeronca K models in SA but there are a few Champs and Chiefs.
All the best.

Hi Tom! Thanks for your personal attention to my e-mailed questions on "K"
tail feathers and tanks. Your answers were direct and exact! This seems a friendly site
and friendly folks touching base. My first airplane ride was in a C-3, found many years
later in a garage hundreds of miles from its original site. Later a "K" at
Ellenville, NY caught my attention. Now it's 7ACs. Just can't (and don't wantto) get away
from Aeroncas. Hope to see you at Middletown in '98.

Just discovered this page.... Thanks for the service...
We have Aeronca KCA-24 and my wife and I are planning on restoring it in the near future.
I'm sure that I'll have many requests for parts as about 80% of the machine is here.
Presently the fuselage is on the back patio, the Cont A-65-8 is in the garage the wings
and tailfeathers are tied up on the den ceiling...yes I have a VERY understanding wife.
I am a returning A&P and am facing into a complete rebuild. We have many hours flying
with Channing Clark (my "Airframe' instructor in his restored Fleetwings (up until
sold last Jan '96) and am going to utilize his expertise as best and willing as he may be.
for now....

Barry Taylor at Antique Airfield gave us your address. We just finished getting
I just finished getting the APM's "K" running over the weekend, runs great, but
has some oil leaks that still need to be taken care of. Barry and I are in need of
some gaskets and o-rings. He thought that you might be able to help us out.
If you have any gaskets for the lifter blocks and pushrod tube o-rings we would
like to here from you.
I sure am glad to find out about your site. My dad Ed , brother Ric, and I are all
big "K" fans. We will have the "K" flying for the Labor day fly-in at
Antique Airfield. I hope to see some of you their. Tailwinds, Ron.

Gentlemen,
As a fan of Aeroncas in general and the K in particular, I was quite gratified to stumble
across the k page. I do not fly but I build 1/4 scale and larger radio controlled scale
models. I have a model of the K itching to get started on so the page should be of great
help in building and detailing the model. Many thanks and keep up the good work. Perhaps
one day if I dream hard enough I will learn to fly and can obtain a K or Champ.

In 1939 when I was going to John Tarlton College they had an air training schedule for
students and there were two Aeroncas. I thought they were a much better plane than the
others.

First flew Aeronca K in 1948 from the old Del Mar airport in California. Used to travel
south along the coast about three miles and on good soaring days join the gliders and
sailplanes at Torrey Pines cliffs slope soaring with engine at idle. Engine did load up
and quit once so I made a landing at the glider field and got restarted! The K was a
loveable, pugnacious looking, fun airplane. Just don't plan too long a cross country--you
will be "bottomed out" before you get there!

Nice page. My father spent over 40 years at Aeronca, as QC,
Director of Engineering, and VP at the end. Now flying the
#2-1945 Chief, completely restored in the Aeronca plant in Middletown.
I know he will get a kick out of seeing where some of the old planes
are. Keep up the good work.

Nice to see someone else doing an Aeronca web page. It was
getting pretty lonely out there! :)
Actually, Mark Peterson mentioned the Aeronca Aviators email
list - now 83 strong - it also has a forsale/wanted section
that we've put on the web page along with digests of most of
our conversations. Take a look at
http://pulsar.westmont.edu/aeronca and all its sub-trees.
Trade ya links, OK? :)
Low and Slow is beautiful! Long live Tube & Fabric!!

Really enjoyed your web page! We just found out about it on our
Aeronca mailing list! We invite all of you to join us...we would
really enjoy looking over your shoulders as you type about the
113 engine and the K model. One of the gentlemen here in Othello
has a K model in restoration with the 113 engine, so I will be
sharing the postings with him.
Feel free to add our Aeronca web page to the links page....
and the mailing list: aeronca@westmont.edu...we are up to 70 folks
on the mailing list and really have a fine group of people on it.

Still flying K-154 very regular at home airstrip.
Lycoming 0-145 running very well. Would like to buy .020 oversized
pistons for Lycoming 0-145. Have many factory drawings of Aeronca K
components to help in your restoration. This is brother's E-mail
but will forward for me.

Tom,
I agree with the message Mike sent. The web page is great. Just a little correction to
your list of K Owners. I am the owner of the K. Mike is "just" my chief
restoration engineer.

Interesting page. I live in Slidell, LA. I own an 11BC and have restored a 50-C. The K
is interesting and there is one located at Stennis Airport in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi,
about 20 miles from here. I understand that it just sold, but I think it is still in the
area. Your instrument panel is identical to the 1938 50-C that I restored many years ago.

MUCH TO MY AMAZEMENT, I LOCATED AERONCA-K NCI8836 ON THE NET.
I WAS A CUSTODIAL OWNER IN THE LATE I960S. IT WAS A LOT OF FUN TO FLY,
AND I PUT A LOT OF HOURS ON IT. SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS, AND MANY AMUSING
STORIES/ADVENTURES ETC. I RODE AN UPDRAFT OVER PALM SPRINGS CA
TO APPRX. 14,750. ALMOST LOST IT AT SEA OFF CATALINA ISLAND. WON AN
EAA RALLY IN RAMONA CA USING A BIG BEN ALARM CLOCK AS A TIMEPIECE...
ETC,ETC,ETC.
HOPE IT IS BACK IN THE AIR SOON.
