PART II - OPERATION

SECTION 4 -ROCKER ARM LUBRICATION - AERONCA E-113, A, B, AND C ENGINES

The rocker arm bearings should be lubricated at least every 15 hours of flying. Standard Alemite fittings are provided for this lubrication. It is very important that a high grade rocker arm lubricant be used. Some greases break down under the high cylinder head temperatures and fail to lubricate as well as form acids which corrode the parts and plug the grease holes. The following rocker arm lubricants have been found to be satisfactory for use in AERONCA engines:

Name of Oil Company Lubricant Trade Name
C. H. Clark Oil Co., Cleveland, Ohio Sea Gull Rocker Arm Grease
Texas Oil Company Texaco Marfak No. 3
Vacuum Oil Company Mobiloil Aircraft Rocker Arm Grease
