PART 1 - INSTALLATION

Section 1 - UNPACKING

The AERONCA engine is shipped in a standard AERONCA engine box with the carburetor and exhaust pipe detached. It is fastened in the box by means of a steel trap across the front end of the crankcase and two angle iron plates at the lower rear to which the lower engine mounting studs attach.

After removing the straps and loosening the lower mounting stud nuts, the engine can be lifted bodily out of the box as it weighs only 121 lbs.

The engine was carefully "run in" at the factory and checked for full throttle operation and is shipped ready for installation in a plane. The oil has been drained from the engine and the various oil holes plugged for shipment.
