Restoring an Aeronca K
(Last updated 12/22/08)

As you have guessed by now, the Aeronca K Home Page is on the Web for those who are lucky enough to own and fly an Aeronca K or are restoring one of these 60 year old antiques. So here we go with some things that could be especially helpful if you are an owner or restorer of an Aeronca K.

First, if you found a K to restore be sure to start the registration process with the FAA immediately. This could be time consuming if their records show that the person you bought it from is different from the last registered owner. This happens a lot during the time the plane was getting 60 years old.

Second, I have many of the original Aeronca factory drawings of the Aeronca K and E-113 series engines. If you need a specific drawing for your K or E-113 please contact me. I may have the drawing you need and will make a copy for you. This offer is available at a low cost to current K or E-113 owners, including those that have an E-113 on their C-3. Write or E-mail me about this.

Third, The type certificate 634 Aircraft Specifications for the K are still available from the FAA. If they send you the 1990 revision, please let me know, as there are some major discrepencies as to the moment arms, which will affect your weight and balance computations. The 1959 specifications are OK.

Fourth, More items will be added. And if enough people have questions on the same subject they will be answered for all on this Aeronca K Home Page.

If you have any extra K parts you are interested in selling let me know and I will post them on the Aeronca K and E-113 Parts For Sale page. Also, if you are looking for parts, make sure to visit the Aeronca K and E-113 Parts Wanted page.
