AERONCA Memo M-25

10-20-37 M-25

MEMORANDUM TO OWNERS OF AERONCA MODEL "K"
SUBJECT: TAIL WHEEL ASSEMBLY
The rudder of several of the subject model airplanes have

been damaged in hard landings because it is possible for the tail

wheel to deflect far enough to strike the rudder. To prevent

damage to your airplane install the spacer provided according

to the following directions.
Remove the 2 bolts which hold the tail wheel strut in the

tail post of the ship. Remove the bolt which passes through the

forward end of the tail wheel arm and unhook the two springs from

the rudder. The complete tail wheel assembly can then be removed

from the airplane. Do not allow the spring to fall out of the

tail post.
Place the small steel disk over the end of the spacer tube

and push both up into the tail post so that the disk is between

the spacer and the spring. Push the strut up into the tail post

and replace the bolts springs, and cotter pins.
