Volunteer Guide to Cleaning Aeronca Drawings

I need help cleaning the Aeronca drawings that I have scanned.  Below are instructions (actually a tutorial) on how to electronically clean drawings with Adobe Photoshop.  It is a lot of work, so thank you in advance for volunteering.

After doing the tutorial, which includes cleaning 1-2172, let me know that you are ready to begin cleaning.  I will need to mail you a CD with the drawings or arrange a time to post the drawings on the web.  The drawings are very large, so I can only leave them on the web for a few hours.

If you live in the Brighton Michigan area, I am willing to provide you hands-on training.  That would be much quicker than reading the Guide.

Cleaning Aeronca Drawings.pdf (788KB) The Volunteer Guide to Cleaning Aeronca Drawings.  This tutorial will teach you how to clean previously scanned Aeronca drawings and converting them from grayscale to black-and-white.
1-2172.tif (3473KB) This sample drawing is needed for the tutorial.  It is big.... 3.5 MB !!
1-2172done.tif (153 KB) This is what your sample drawing should look like when you are done with the tutorial.  Notice the size difference.

Send your requests or questions to ttad@aol.com.

Thanks.
