AERONCA AIRCRAFT CORPORATION

SERVICE MEMORANDUM TO ALL OWNERS OF MODELS K, KF, KM, CF, KC, KCA, 50-C,
365-C, 50-L, 50-LA, 65-L, 65-LA, 50-F, 6-50-F.
It has come to our attention that the top seat rail of the subject model
aircraft has failed occasionally when the aircraft were being subject to
maneuvering conditions.
For the overall safety of the aircraft, particularly if it is being used
for training purposes, where spins or other maneuvers are required, this
seat rail should be replaced by a modified seat rail furnished by us at a
cost of fifty cents ($0.50) plus transportation charges.
The modified seat rail can be installed as a direct substitute for the
present seat rail without affecting either the seat canvas or end fittings.
We find is absolutely necessary, in view of the existing emergency
conditions to request that you give us as quickly as possible your
acceptance or non-accecptance of this offer. We must pre-arrange our
material control and regimentate our production lines in such a manner
that we may fulfill your requests as soon as possible and still be able
to carry on our work which is so necessary to the war. Consequently,
we must limit your acceptance of this offer to three weeks. If we do not
hear from you within that time, the offer is closed to you and any orders
after that time will be considered as a parts order and will be shipped
at the current list price.
Please make appropriate entries in your airplane log book for the benefit
of the Civil Aeronautics Administration inspectors.
If you are no longer the ownerof the aircraft for which this Memorandum
is intended, please see that it is forwarded to the new owner.
