AERONCA Memo M-23

M-23 September 17 1937

MEMORANDUM TO OWNERS OF AERONCA MODEL "K"
SUBJECT: UPPER ELEVATOR CABLE
A hard landing caused the upper elevator cable on one of the

subject model airplanes to hook onto the upper side of the clamp which

holds the fairlead for the tab control cable. This fairlead is

located just below the joint between the leading edge of the fin

and the top longeron and can be reached through the inspection

window below the left stabilizer.
To prevent the cable from being worn under these conditions it is

advisable to lace several strands of safety wire through small holes

in the bulkheads on either side of the fuselage just below the fairlead

in such a manner as to prevent the cable from hooking onto the clamp.
